About
Dr. Emily Mejía
Hi, I’m Emily and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine specializing in reproductive health across the lifespan, and complex cases.
I work with patients navigating ongoing symptoms, whether that’s pain, anxiety, hormonal concerns, or issues that haven’t fully responded to other treatments.
My Approach
My work is grounded in Classical Five Element acupuncture, which allows for a more precise and individualized approach to care.
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, I look at underlying patterns in the body, especially when symptoms are tied to long-standing stress, trauma, or internal balance.
Treatments are calm, unhurried, and tailored to you. Care is individualized. We adjust based on how your body responds. The goal is not just short-term relief, but meaningful and lasting change.
My Story
I came to this work through my own experience with chronic migraines. For years I lived with symptoms that did not resolve even after trying multiple approaches.
I learned how to function with pain, and experienced the limitations of many treatment models that focused on managing symptoms instead of asking why the pattern is there in the first place.
Chinese medicine was the first approach that changed that chronic trajectory and brought me out of suffering. That experience continues to shape how I practice.
I know what it is like to feel stuck in your own body, and how important it is to be met with care that is thoughtful, gentle and effective.
Areas of Focus
I commonly work with patients experiencing:
chronic pain (neck, back, headaches, body tension)
anxiety, stress, and nervous system dysregulation
hormonal and reproductive health concerns
fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum support
lactation support
ongoing or complex conditions that haven’t fully resolved

A note on care:
I hold space where all bodies are welcome. I am inclusive of all identities and welcome patients of all genders, sexual orientations, races, cultures, sizes, and life experiences.
I practice from a Health at Every Size perspective. Your care will not be reduced to your weight. We focus on what your body is experiencing, what it needs, and how to support it in a way that is sustainable and respectful.
I am committed to providing care that is inclusive and trauma informed.
If this approach resonates with you, I am here for you!
